Founded in 1923 on an area of around 500 hectares it extends on a surface of around 50.000 hectares surrounded by a zone of respect of around 80.000 hectares today; the Park is the last zone of Italy where shelter is found by animals that once lived on the whole “Appennino” mountains.(National Park of Abruzzo, Lazio e Molise)
Every moment of the year the Park has its charm: Spring and the tender colors of leaves and flowers; Summer and the immense verdant expanses of the woods; Autumn plunged in sunbelievable and intense colours... from the red of the maple to the yellow of the “Carpino”... to the bronze of the “Cerro”.
To appreciate the Park away from the traditional seasons and tourist flows allows to discover its beauties and even to draw near to someone of the timid creatures who live there... bear, wolf, buck, chamois, lynx .....
